Deputy Minister for Codification/Solicitor General Designate

Cllr. Nyenati Tuan, Deputy Minister of Justice for Codification was sworn into office in 2018. In his role as Deputy Minister of Codification, he heads the department of codification and leads in ensuring that all laws are reviewed, validated and codified for future reference. 

Cllr. Tuan attended the University of Liberia and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management, with an emphasis in Economics, in 1980. He enrolled at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia, and graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree in 1984.

Counsellor Nyenati Tuan served the Government at the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN) now Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) in the following capacities: Deputy Chief of Research and Planning 1980-1981. Chief of Registration 1981-1982, Chief of Statics 1983-1985 and Deputy Commissioner for Naturalization 1991-1995

Between 1985 to 1990, Counsellor Tuan joined the Tuan Wreh law firm where he served as staff counsel. He also served as a Managing Partner for the Tuan Wreh law firm from 1996 through 2007. He also served as an Instructor of Business and Labor Law at the Modern Commercial Institute from 1984-1989. In 2018, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice for Codification, Republic of Liberia.

He has practiced law for over thirty-nine (39) years and was initially admitted to the Montserrado County Bar of the Republic of Liberia in 1984 as Attorney-At-Law, and the Supreme Court Bar in 1992, as Counsellor-At-Law. 

In 2022, he was appointed as Solicitor General of the Republic of Liberia and is currently awaiting confirmation.
